TeeBlox Geek Box Review – June 2017

TeeBlox is a fun US based subscription service based around T-Shirts. They send a package to your door every month. This contains a T-Shirt and other items, usually a comic and a small item, such as a badge.

TeeBlox offer a variety of themes. I’m currently subscribed to their Marvel package, which promises an official T-Shirt of some kind (although not necessarily a Marvel one). From looking at other reviews, different subscribers to the same theme can get different items, so I guess that this all depends what’s available. There is no information card in the package.

TeeBlox is a small letterbox sized subscription, which should be an advantage if you’re not in to answer the door for a subscription box delivery. In previous months, these have been delivered by Royal Mail and posted straight through the door. This month, the subscription came with a cheaper courier, who insisted on a signature, something very inconvenient.

To give you an idea of pricing, the regular pricing for this subscription shipped to the UK is $25 USD (£20 GBP) when paid on a monthly basis. I’m currently on an annual subscription, which is at a discounted price.

Box Contents

I Have Comiks Issues T-Shirt

This is a fun design, not an official Marvel, but one that captures the spirit of comic collectors.

I like the play on words.

This is printed on soft grey stock. One that I’ll certainly wear.

I value this at the T-Shirt standard of $10 USD.

X-Men Comic #9

This is a 2011 release, containing Part 3 of the story “To Serve and Protect”. Not really a standalone.

The comic is not in the best condition, with several folds, but still readable.

The cover price is $3.99 USD, although I’ll assign a value of $1 USD to reflect the condition.

Spider-man Key Ring

Although I’m not a major fan of continually getting key rings in geek boxes, this is a good third item for TeeBlox.

This is made of rubber and is better than the small badges and printed stickers we’ve seen in some recent months.

You can see the Spider-man Key Ring on Amazon.com. The value there is $3 USD.

Box Review

A decent package, but marred slightly by having to sign for the delivery.

I like the T-Shirt, even though it wasn’t really an official Marvel T-Shirt (but may otherwise be a commercial release). The other two items are decent for this style of package too.

I get a total value of $14 USD. That doesn’t compare well with the cost price, but there’s always a premium for international subscribers before.

As I’ve said before, this is a good started geek subscription. If you like geek T-Shirts, you should check out TeeBlox.
