Nerd Block Grab Block Review – April 2015

Nerd Block occasionally offers a special Grab Block sale. This is where you can get hold of a selection of previous Nerd Block items, left over from previous blocks, for a discounted price.

I haven’t received many Nerd Block boxes so I grabbed one of all three of the major blocks to see what they were like and to try and get some interesting items from previous boxes. All three were guaranteed to come with a T-Shirt.

As usual, delivery to the UK was fast, taking under two weeks. The price, including shipping, to the UK, was $28.49 USD or about 19 GBP, so a small discount on the normal monthly box.

As a Grab Block, the items arrived weren’t themed and missed the descriptive card usually received. Having seen some other unboxing videos, it also looks like every customer got something different, depending what items were available.

The packing and selection process for these was also flawed, as I got the same item in two of the boxes, as well as an item in the Arcade Block Grab Block which really should have been in Nerd Block Arcade Block. Stay tuned for those reviews.

Box Review

Six items in a Nerd Block seems quite low compared to the normal box, which is packed full, but the items were generally good.

That’s excluding the Elf Ears, which I really can’t think of any reason to keep!

Unfortunately, the Gremlin ended up being a duplicate as this was also in the Horror Block Grab Block which arrived at the same time. Well, Gremlins do multiply!

The T-Shirt is one of the creative ones. Mashup T-Shirts are all the rage right now.

Excluding the filler, there were two great items in the Grab Block.

I like the Iron Man mug. Bold and colourful and big enough for a decent cuppa.

The Star Wars film cell is a rare item. This is the first film cell I’ve ever owned and it’s great to get an iconic one, as they vary so much.

Overall, the standard monthly Nerd Block is top quality. The Grab Blocks are a bit more of a gamble, but are a great way to get hold of some previous items.

Whether I get a Grab Block again will probably depend on how many of the recent blocks I’ve subscribed to, as there’s little point in getting duplicate items. But, if you want to check out Nerd Block, they are well worth it.
