Level Up is a companion subscription to the Loot Crate family, providing geekie clothing items each month. The clothing items are linked with the main theme for the Loot Crate box, which in January 2016 was Invasion.

There are currently four different Level Up clothing ranges available, some of which can be combined to save on postage.

This review is for the combined package of 2 pairs of socks and a wearable item, which costs $26.99 USD (£19 GBP), including postage to the UK. That also provides a discount on the price for the socks alone ($12.99 USD) and the wearable ($17.99 USD).

You can also buy a T-Shirt ($11.99 USD) and a Female Accessories package ($17.99 USD).

As you’ll see in the unboxing video, the delivery of this package caused some confusion. A second Level Up package arrived at the same time, which actually contained two bonus pairs of socks (reviewed separately here). The confusion wasn’t helped by the package taking almost a month to reach me from when it was mailed.

Like the other Level Up items I’ve purchased in the past, this arrived in a thin plastic bubble wrap style envelope. The contents were tightly packed to all fit in. The envelope also came with the usual useful brochure with details of the Level Up items.

Box Contents

Space Invaders Hoodie (Exclusive)

Cool to get a hoodie as a wearable item, a Level Up first!

This is a simple design, with the classic space invaders shapes on a black background. Most of the invaders are grey, but there are occasional green ones to stand out.

The style of this one is rather like a long sleeve T-Shirt, with thin material (presumably to fit in the envelopes). This will be a comfortable wear when summer comes along.

Only downside is that this one is rather long – a problem that I also found with the Loot Crate wearable last month.

There are various Space Invaders hoodies available on Amazon.com.

As a thin exclusive hoodie, this is difficult to price, but I’ll estimate $25 USD.

I Believe Aliens Socks

This is a cool design, with the green print reminding me of the T-Shirt in the main Loot Crate box.

This pair of socks isn’t an exclusive and are released by the Sock It To Me brand, which is new to me. The socks are a combination of cotton, polyester and spandex and have a comfortable feel to them.

I’ve been typically valuing Loot Crate socks at $10 USD. Although these aren’t an official branded design, I’m happy to stick with that valuation here.

Destiny Socks (Exclusive)

This pair of socks is made by Bioworld and is an exclusive design. These are based around the Destiny game, which I haven’t played, but I do like the simple black and grey pattern.

These are acrylic, polyester and spandex and also feel comfortable.

There are various pairs of Destiny socks available on Amazon.com.

I’ll use the $10 USD valuation here.

Box Review

As clothing boxes go, this package is the best collection of clothing items that I’ve had.

The value of $45 USD is well above the cost price, even if I may have been generous with the prices. That is before considering the bonus socks that I received alongside this.

Most importantly, I plan to wear all of the items.

Socks are always a safe bet, but I’m also very glad to have got this hoodie.

The items in the other Level Up packages also look cool too, with a Space Invaders T-Shirt and a Star Trek Friendship Necklace being included. Just shows the value of having a top theme to work with.

If you like geekie clothing, Loot Crate Level Up is bound to appeal to you!
