Super Loot is a UK based geek subscription crate and one that seems well-respected, based on the reviews I’ve seen on other sites.
That meant I was very pleased to get this box in my hands, delivered through a private courier firm. This arrived at 9am on Good Friday – 3 April 2015 (a day when Royal Mail in the UK don’t deliver), which came as a pleasant surprise. Delivery took about four days from the dispatch notification email.
The usual price for a UK delivery for Super Loot is £16.99, inclusive of postage. I was able to reduce this to £15.64 using a discount code (about $24 USD at the current exchange rate). There are also small discounts available for longer subscriptions.
Subscriptions are available for non UK addresses. As an example, I priced up a monthly paid subscription to the US for £25.24 (that’s about $38 USD).
Super Loot also allow you to subscribe a monthly candy box and a comic box. although I haven’t tried either of those.
Everything arrived in a stylish looking box, much closer to a cube than the traditional long and thin geek box. I presume that the box has the same design every month, but still looks great to receive and unpack.
Unusually, I didn’t see an advertised theme with this box (although I’m sure you’ll see the link with the items). There’s also no card included explaining the items, which would be useful in future.

Box Review
Quite a fun box, particularly with the Mario theme, which is one I love.
The highlight has to be the T-Shirt, with a simple green colour and white text which is one of my favourite colour schemes. The Mario mushroom is quite clever. I presume that this is a Super Loot exclusive (or at least something of a rarity) although there’s no information in the box.
The Mario theme also spreads across most of the rest of the items, which include the lanyard, soft toy and the mini plastic figure (although I’ve no idea what the point of it is). They’re cute items really, rather than anything more.
The controller style keyring is a robust piece of metal and good for anyone who needs the weight to stop losing the keys. I’ve more key rings that I know what to do with, but it’s a nice item.
The stickers, like the mini figure are not particularly useful (I can’t imagine ever sticking them on anything), but they’re something to look at and it’s always good to have more items to unpack.
For the other items, I know nothing about Tokyo Ghoul, but it’s a useful enough notebook and will get used.
And, the little cookies filled with chocolate were pleasant enough and soon got eaten!
I do think that Super Loot is missing a trick not including a card in their box giving some details about the items, encouraging subscriptions and cross-promoting their other products. There are links to the social media sites on the box itself.
There’s certainly value for money here. The T-Shirt will get worn, but a few items will end up as presents (including the Mario ghost soft toy). 8 items for £16.99 will always be decent value, particularly for a small-scale UK box, and there are some items in here that are both unusual and well-curated.
Overall, I think that this is one of those boxes that’s fun to receive and unpack, but I think I’d order more often if I knew what the themes were going to be. I will be ordering more, but probably not one every month.
