Who doesn’t like Mr Bean? That must have been the question that Nerd Block were asking themselves when they were compiling the British Invasion block for June 2015.
Shocking enough, I’d say the British are not big fans of Mr Bean. I’m not a fan and I don’t many people who are. So, I approached the British Invasion block with some trepidation about what an American view of the British would be like.
Thankfully, apart full of stereotypical contents, most of the box is good – and the contents are much more accessible than the anime thematic challenge from the previous month.
As usual with Nerd Block, shipping was excellent. For a total cost of $32.49 USD (£22 GBP), shipping to the UK took around a week, with everything arriving well-packaged.
Box Contents
Sherlock “Bored” T-Shirt (Exclusive)
I do watch Sherlock, but didn’t immediately spot the reference. This is a Shirt Punch T-Shirt, so an exclusive as usual.
A great design which I’ll value at the T-Shirt standard of $10 USD.
Mr Bean Bendable
As you probably gathered, I’m not too keen on this.
They sell for $8 USD on Amazon.com.
Mr Bean Teddy
Although I’m not a fan of Mr Bean, the Teddy has a certain cool factor about it.
Much more so than the bendable, which looks like something for young children.
I can’t find this exact one online, but I’ll price it based on similar official items at $10 USD.
Doctor Who Monsters Blue Print (Exclusive)
There’s also a green version which, according to the information card, is even more exclusive.
I always value these prints/posters conservatively, so I’ll assume this is worth $2 USD.
Doctor Who 10th Doctor Vinyl Figure (Exclusive)
Brilliant! This is listed as an exclusive, although I believe it’s a minor change by adding glasses to the vinyl.
As an exclusive, I can’t easily price this online, but similar 10th Doctor Vinyls sell for $15 USD on Amazon.
Monty Python Fridge Magnets
These are also really cool. You can spell out a load of familiar Monty Python quotes.
These aren’t listed as an exclusive, but I’ve not been able to find any online (other than people selling their set from Nerd Block). Certainly hanging on to mine.
I think that there’s easily $15 USD of value here.

Box Review
This is a great box overall, particularly the Doctor Who vinyl and the Monty Python Fridge Magnets.
I get $60 USD of value easily – and that’s made up almost exclusively of items I’m happy to own.
The only thing I miss is the book that’s been in the recent Nerd Blocks. Hope the books make a return next month.
Now, time to spell out “Ni Ni Ni Ni Ni” and see who I can get to find me a shrubbery.
If you missed this box, you really missed out!
