Infinity Crates is a one of the longest serving of the UK based geek subscription box. It’s part of a tough market now as there’s lot of competition. Infinity Crates does strives to set itself apart around its offer of a Funko POP! Vinyl and a T-Shirt being included in every box.

The theme for the March 2016 box offered a lot of potential, being Galactic, suggesting space and galaxy related items.

The box also has some personalisation, so items such as the T-Shirt are chosen from a set of previously registered interests.

Infinity Crates have updated their offers and pricing for new members in recent months. The default subscription for Infinity Crates is their Classic Crate. On a month-by-month rolling subscription basis, this now costs £19.99 GBP ($28 USD) including delivery within the UK.

There are also three other subscriptions available, including the Premium Crate at £26.99 GBP ($38 USD), the Kids Crate at £19.99 GBP ($28 USD) and the T-Shirt Only Crate at £10.99 GBP ($15 USD).

This review is for the Classic Crate. My rate is slightly below the above pricing, as I’m still on the previous subscription terms, but I’ll now use $28 USD as the expected comparative value.

There were no issues with delivery with the March 2016 box, which arrived through Royal Mail Tracked. The box contained an information card, which is always useful.

Box Contents

Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver T-Shirt (Exclusive)

This is another cool T-Shirt from Infinity Crates, particularly for Doctor Who fans like me.

It uses the classic black background, which always works well, plus both blue and white print to make the design stand out.

I’ll value this at the T-Shirt standard of $10 USD.

Rocket Raccoon Funko POP! Vinyl

This is item 48 in the POP! Marvel series and is a fun POP from Guardians of the Galaxy!

Not one of my favourite characters or films, but it is a good design.

The Rocket Raccoon Funko POP! Vinyl is available on Amazon.com. It typically sells for $8 USD.

Space Invaders Fridge Magnet

Space Invaders has been popular in geek boxes recently.

This is a round magnet, about the size of a typical badge. I presume that this is an unofficial magnet.

I’ll use my standard valuation for this type of item of $2 USD.

Galactic Mini Poster (Exclusive)

I’m going to presume that this is an exclusive, as Infinity Crates use their own artist.

This is a neat design, with many logos and ships that are recognisable from film and TV franchises.

My standard valuation for these posters is $2 USD.

BB8 Plush

This is a tiny plush, but it’s also a lot of fun, showing BB8 from the latest Star Wars film (which I’ve finally had chance to watch).

The attached label says that this is a Disney Parks item. It also lists the plush as being 9″ tall. By my measurements, it’s approximately half that height. It’s not too clear what has happened here, but I’m going to guess that this is really an unofficial item.

Based on that, I’m going to assign a value of $5 USD.

Avengers Key Ring – Thor’s Hammer

This is a heavy key ring (Thor’s Hammer really adds to the weight).

It good that this comes properly boxed and packaged. This is one that I’d likely use if I had need for a new key ring.

There are many versions of the Thor’s Hammer key ring available on Amazon.com.

I’m going to use a mid-value here of $5 USD.

Box Review

This is a good box from Infinity Crates.

I get $32 USD of value here, which is above the cost price (although it would cost you more to get all of these items shipped to you individually).

I particularly like the T-Shirt and you always know that there will be value inside a box like this when there’s a Funko POP! Vinyl included. The BB8 plush is fun too.

If you are interested in difference between the Classic Crate and the Premium Crate, I have seen some other unboxing videos to look at the difference. As best I can see, the Premium Crate contained a different (and larger) plush, as well as a second T-Shirt.

One thing to be aware of is that you to get a lot of merchandise that seems unofficial bulking up this box. I’m in two minds about this. It does add questions about the value, but the items are also a lot better than the stickers and badges that used to fill up the box.

Regardless of this, I don’t think that you can ever go wrong with Infinity Crates. They are worth checking out.
