Horror Block is one of those boxes that I don’t buy every month, but I really should, as it’s actually far closer to delivering on its promise of items for its core audience than many other boxes. To be fair, I don’t buy it as I’m just not a big enough followed of horror in all of its forms, although my interest has definitely picked up with some of the zombie shows on TV right now.
The standard price, including shipping to the UK is $32.49 USD (£22 GBP). There are normally some small discounts around and in fact I saved a few dollars due to a very short-term Black Friday deal.
Like all of the Nerd Block family, the price includes an exclusive T-Shirt (from related company Shirt Punch) and there are usually other exclusive items too.
Delivery for this block was rather strange, with my shipping notification not being received until the same day the box arrived with me. As a result, I don’t know how long this took, but I do know that there were already lots of reviews and unboxing videos out there before I received this (I managed to avoid reading them). All I can think is that the international deliveries suffered due to the Christmas period.
As always, everything arrived well-packed in the stylish Horror Block box.
Box Contents
Wes Craven Tribute T-Shirt (Exclusive)
This is a cool T-Shirt design paying tribute to Wes Craven, who died in 2015.
I always appreciate red as a T-Shirt colour and the Shirt Punch design is as visually appealing as normal.
I value this at the T-Shirt standard of $10 USD.
Freddy Krueger Plush (Exclusive)
As plushes go, this one from A Nightmare On Elm Street is pretty decent, but they’ll never be one of my favourite things to find in a box.
This is an exclusive, but there are various other Freddy Kruger plushes and toys available on Amazon.com.
This is hard to value, but I found these horror plushes selling for surprisingly expensive prices before. I’m going to value this along the lines of a vinyl or other main box component at $15 USD.
The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon Pocket POP! Keychain (Exclusive)
Although I’m not too keen on receiving keyrings, I put more value on these Pocket POP!s as they work well even if not used with a set of keys.
This exclusive variant is almost identical to the Daryl Dixon Pocket POP! on Amazon.com. The only difference I can identify is some blood splatter on his clothes and skin.
The packaging looks the same also, with the small change of the Horror Block sticker (upside down on my POP!).
All said, I do like this item. I’ll value it at the list price of the main POP!, that’s $9 USD.
Zombie Hula Girl Dashboard Ornament (Exclusive)
To me, this is just a cheap plastic model and something that I really don’t see an appeal for. Not something I’d display.
But, it is also an exclusive, and decent as filler items go.
These dashboard figures start at $5 USD and go up from there, which is the figure that I’ll use for the value.
Godzilla Vs Cthulhu Print
This is a good striking image, created by the artist Paul Hanley
The standard value I use for these prints, ready for framing, is $2 USD.
Rue Morgue Magazine
This magazine comes in the box most months (one time it was replaced with a special issue) and really adds to the value for me.
There’s plenty of interest to read here.
One thing I’ve spotted is that this is billed as the January/February issue, so perhaps this isn’t actually published every month?
The cover price is $9.95 USD. Always happy to see Rue Morgue included.

Box Review
Another excellent value Horror Block.
I make this $51 USD of value, a price way above the shipped cost.
No DVD this month (which Horror Block has included quite often in the past), but the other items more than make up for it.
Some excellent main items, including the T-Shirt, several exclusives, no really cheap looking filler and something good to read. This is how every block should be structured.
I recommend Horror Block. You don’t even have to be a massive horror fan to appreciate the value of the contents.
