Comic Block brings you a collection of items of interest to comic book fans, along with a selection of comics, every month.

A recent relaunch saw them increase the size of the box to be more in line with the rest of the Nerd Block family and I’ve certainly had a positive experience with the larger size of boxes.

The standard pricing for the current size box, including shipping from Canada to the UK, is $33 USD (that’s around £24 GBP). I have a slight discount as I still pay the previous rates. Like many boxes, there are also often offers available, as well as discounts for subscriptions of more than one month.

The box arrived safely in the UK, although it seemed slightly later than usual. The box also contained the information card, which is useful to find out more about the items (there’s no set theme to these boxes, other than the overall comic theme).

Box Contents

X-Men Apocalypse T-Shirt (Exclusive)

This is a bold design relating to the movie. I’m not a massive fan of the X-Men series, but it’s common to tie the t-shirts in with film releases and I guess that these are pretty collectible.

I’ll value this at the T-Shirt standard of $10 USD.

The Penguin Dorbz

I like the style of these Dorbz collectibles and I’ve been slowly getting a few of them in different geek boxes. This design of the Penguin from Batman is pretty fun and captures the spirit of the character.

This is made by Vinyl Sugar, which is a Funko brand.

You can take a look at the Penguin Dorbz on Amazon.com. The typical selling price is $7 USD.

Avengers Mini Wacky Wobblers

This is a another fun item. Four different bobble head figures from Avengers Age of Ultron.
They include Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Captain America.

These are quite small compared to other collectibles but look well made and come in a great display box. Another Funko made item too.

You can see these Avengers Wacky Wobblers on Amazon.com. The price for the set is surprisingly high at $20 USD.

The Punisher Comic #1 (Exclusive Cover)

There are only two comics in this box, but at least a bit of effort has gone into selecting them (even if they come in those always style of disposable bags with no way to reseal them).

As far as I can see this is a new ongoing series from Marvel, likely launched to capitalise on the featuring of the Punisher in the latest Netflix series of Daredevil.

Not necessarily one of those series that I’d have automatically gravitated towards, but this looks worth a read.

This cover comes with the Comic Block logo on the front.

The cover price for this one is $3.99 USD.

Tank Girl Comic #1 (Variant Cover)

This is a Titan Comics release and seems intended as a retro style lighthearted comic. The cover indicates that it’s for mature readers.

Not sure if this is a limited or ongoing series, but I’ll certainly take a close look and see if the humour matches mine.

The cover price is $3.99 USD.

Box Review

A good box for value, with $45 USD of products included, which is above the cost price.

That’s slightly inflated by the Wacky Wobblers set, but the items are decent, so who’s to mind?

A mini disappointment is that there are only five items, of which two of them are the comic books. The items that are there match the Comic Block audience well. I particularly like the choice of Dorbz.

Comic Block continues to offer good fun. It’s got to be worth a close look.
