Lootchest is a geek mystery box company operating from Germany and delivering worldwide.
There aren’t many English language reviews of Lootchest, so I decided to buy a box so I could provide a review. This arrived well-packed in a branded box, with the UK part of the shipping completed by Parcelforce. I didn’t notice a shipping notification email, but I believe that delivery from Germany took about a week.
Shipping to the UK on a month-by-month subscription is 32.93 euros, approximately £24 GBP or $37 USD. That’s more than most of other geek subscription boxes. Discounts are available for longer subscriptions. Lootchest Plus is also available for an additional 8 euros, which contains a further item (this month, it would have been a Streefighter LED keyring).
The May 2015 box was a celebration of Lootchest’s first birthday. The box came with a small magazine detailing the contents, usefully printed in both German and English.
Box Contents
ROCCAT Syva Headset
An unusual main item for a geek box, an in-ear headset. But also a very useful one, either for gaming or general audio use.
This headset sells for $30 USD on Amazon.com.
Kre-O Star Trek U.S.S. Kelvin Construction Set
This is a building block type set with 34 pieces, creating a ship with pieces that glow in the dark.
This starship is available for $11 USD on Amazon.com.
Titan Training T-Shirt
This is a simple design of T-Shirt. The retail price listed in the brochure is 15 euros, although I value T-Shirts like this at $10 USD.
Pixel Heroes Might And Magic Downloadable Game
This is a rogue-like game for PC and Mac, which looks a lot of fun and has good reviews. I used to play a lot of roguelike games, particularly Moria, so looking forward to checking this one out.
This sells on Steam for £7 GBP (about $11 USD).
Autographed Photo
This is a mystery item as it’s not mentioned in the brochure and it’s not clear who the four males featured are. They may be better known in German.
There is also a Commodore 64 retro sticker in the box.
Center Shock Candy
A small single sweet.
Lootchest Mini Magazine
This is 8 A5 pages, written in German, with shorter English translations.
I’ll value all the small items together at $1 USD.

Box Review
Thumbs up to see the growth of geek boxes in this sector and a box from Germany shipping to the UK. One slight disappointment as a UK buyer is I’d have hoped to have received a German produced item which isn’t easily obtainable in the UK, but otherwise a good selection of items.
Very good value for money here. $63 USD in value for $37 USD shipped.
Very happy with the main item as well, as it’s always useful to have more headsets, and this is an expensive headset to buy. The Star Trek ship is also fun.
There are a few small filler items, but that’s fine when compared to the overall box value. This is a box which is fun to unpack.
I probably won’t get this box every month, purely because it’s a few dollars more than the other boxes, but you can’t dispute that the value is there. Lootchest deserves to be seen by a wider audience.
