Loot Wear Risky Business Package Review – January 2018

Published 5 March 2018·2 min read·5 min video

Loot Wear Risky Business has since stopped running. This review is kept as a record of what the box was like; every edition we opened is on the Loot Wear Risky Business page.

The video loads only when you press play, so the page stays fast.

Loot Crate, the established geek box publisher, offers a range of geek clothing lines each month. They all have mystery items inside.

This review is for the Risky Business of Loot Wear, which includes a T-Shirt, a pair of boxer shorts and a pair of socks each month. To me, this is a good overview package with a varied selection of items available in other Loot Wear packages.

The January 2018 package came with the theme Discover, arriving in a large plastic wrapped envelope, which just fits into the letterbox. Unfortunately, this also arrived rather late, as has been the case with several Loot Crate packages recently, but everything was intact.

This also came with an information sheet inside, which is always useful.

The standard pricing that is otherwise in place for this bundle is £16 GBP ($20 USD) per month. Note that, although Loot Crate is a US based subscription, they do charge in pounds for people from the UK, although the price can change depending on the exchange rate. This price also includes the shipping to the UK.

I’m currently on an annual subscription, which is all pre-paid, so have a slight discount on those prices.

Box Contents

Labyrinth T-Shirt (Exclusive)

I like this design. It’s a black and white print on grey T-Shirt stock, with the T-Shirt having a decent thickness to it.

I remember this film well from when it was first released (or, at least, when it started being broadcast on television).

I value this at $10 USD.

Harry Potter Hedwig Socks (Exclusive)

The information sheet bills these as an exclusive, although there’s nothing to indicate this on the socks themselves. They are Harry Potter, but not Loot Crate, branded.

These are sports style socks, even coming in the traditional sports white.

Not the best pair I’ve had, just because I rarely wear sports socks, but decent enough.

I’ll value these at my usual geek socks price point of $10 USD.

Legends Of The Hidden Temple Boxer Shorts (Exclusive)

A cool hieroglyphic design. I have no recollection of this TV show. Don’t think it ever aired in the UK.

Will try and find an episode online as it sounds like an interesting format.

Like the bright yellow design to these. I’ll use a boxer shorts value of $10 USD.

Box Review

A good value Loot Wear as usual. I get $30 USD of value here, which is decently above the cost price.

I can’t complain either at the usefulness of the geek box, as it always keeps me stocked up with socks and underwear.

As far as liking the items, this is a middling one. Love the boxer shorts and the T-Shirt and socks are both fine too.

I think Loot Wear Risky Business is an easy choice for a good value geek clothing package. But I hope they sort the speed of the delivery out.
