Geek Fuel is a mystery subscription box of the nerd variety shipped from the United States. Unfortunately, shipping to the UK was rather slow compared to many other boxes, taking nearly a month. Receiving a box a long time after other people rather takes the fun out of it.
The items arrived in a decent sized red cardboard crate, slightly battered from the journey. Not sure if there was an official theme for this one, but there was a Game Of Thrones bias to the box, which may be a theme.
The cost of the box, including shipping to the UK, was $29.90 USD – about £20 GBP at current exchange rates, both reasonable and typical when compared with other boxes. Discounts are available for longer subscriptions.
Box Contents
Game Of Thrones Inspired T-Shirt
Leonard Nimoy (Spock) Tribute Badge

Box Review
To me, this was a well-curated box and had one really cool item which made it worth the money.
The arrowhead.
I love quirky items like that and already own quite a few fantasy inspired display ornaments and the like.
The shiny arrowhead came packaged in a suitable case and really gives the Geek Fuel box the feeling of something special.
There’s a fun T-Shirt in the box too, along with an exclusive poster, which would frame well. I appreciate that this has been rolled up rather than folded too (although it makes photographing it difficult).
The Spock badge in tribute to Leonard Nimoy is a nice touch.
It’s good to see a full game included too, with real retail value. Whether I will get around to playing it remains in question, but does show the effort that Geek Fuel have gone into to providing a good box.
The back issue of the Game Of Thrones comic is interesting, although items like that don’t stand so well on their own.
I did try the energy drink, which is sweet and drinkable, but not something I would normally quaff. Better to avoid these in boxes, particularly those shipped internationally, as food and liquids products cause all kinds of custom problems and this could easily have leaked.
Overall Geek Fuel gets a top rating.
From the point of view of being a UK subscriber, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to continue with the subscription, purely because of the frustrations of the slow shipping. It’s difficult to avoid box spoilers.
For US subscribers, this one comes highly recommended for the excellent contents.
