GeekGear is a UK based geek subscription box which offers several box choices. The one I’m reviewing here is their Classic box, which tends to contain items from several geek franchises, including exclusive items.
The April 2020 box was rather delayed due to problems with GeekGear getting stock, but did arrive with me successfully a few weeks late. The box was carefully packed, with lots of packaging paper and an information sheet.
The GeekGear Classic box is relatively expensive. You’re looking at £29.49 GBP, including postage within the UK (that’s $37 USD). There are discounts available for longer term subscriptions.
Box Contents
Overwatch T-Shirt (Exclusive)
A black T-Shirt with a small design depicting a Loot Box. I know this is a term with multiple meanings, but it’s quite fitting for anyone who buys geek mystery boxes too.
Main problem is it’s just a bit boring.
I’ll use my usual T-Shirt value of $10 USD.
Crash Bandicoot Crate (Exclusive)
This is an Aku Aku crate. A small plastic item that is almost certainly unofficial.
Not sure what to do with this, but perhaps it could become a paperweight.
I’ll value this at $4 USD.
The Child Artwork
This artwork is by Ashley Foster. It comes printed on thick paper. It is the only item in the box that isn’t billed as an exclusive.
Not completely my thing, but I can see people would like it. I’ll value this at $2 USD.
The Punisher Vest Replica (Exclusive)
This is a small plastic armoured style vest. Not too sure what to do with it, but it is hollow and could be a pencil holder.
It is certainly different. I doubt this is an official item.
I’ll value this at $6 USD.
World of Warcraft Banner (Exclusive)
This is a Kirin Tor banner from World of Warcraft.
Not too sure what to do with it, but it’s quite a cool design.
In the current climate, this might well find itself folded into a face mask.
I’ll value this at $4 USD.
The Witcher Baseball Cap (Exclusive)
I’ve never seen this series (or read the books) but the hat design is pretty cool. I presume it’s totally unofficial.
I’ll value this at $10 USD.

Box Review
I like the fact that GeekGear is trying to do something different, but these items didn’t really grab me.
I get $36 USD of value, which is right about what the box cost, but it doesn’t seem it when you’re going through the items. They are all unofficial. There are two quirky plastic items, but neither stands out to me. Probably the best item is the cap.
There’s enough here to dip into GeekGear occasionally when there’s an offer, but some of the items are just too obscure and niche for me.
