My Geek Box provided mystery box free of charge for review purposes. This does not affect the editorial content of the review.

My Geek Box is an established UK based geek subscription box, one of several offered by the Hut Group. They offer a different mystery box each month. The boxes aren’t themed and usually contain mainstream geek interest items.

The main My Geek Box costs £23 GBP ($29 USD) per month including UK postage.

The May 2019 box arrived safely through Royal Mail, with a plastic layer of outer wrap. The box had a good amount of weight to it.

There’s no information card with these boxes, meaning that some detective work is often required to identify the items.

Box Contents

Gundam T-Shirt

Fairly sure this is Gundam, but it took quite a bit of work to find out. It’s not a franchise I’ve followed.

I do like the highly visual design and the presentation of the robot as a caring and loving creature.

I value this at $10 USD, which is my usual geek T-Shirt price.

Stranger Things Dustin And Dart Funko POP! Vinyl

This is POP! Television #593. It has an Exclusive sticker on and looks like it was a Hot Topic exclusive in the United States.

I can’t tell if it was released anywhere as a UK exclusive or not. Nevertheless, it’s always cool to have a POP!, particularly an unusual one.

You can see the Stranger Things Dustin and Dart Funko POP! Vinyl on Amazon.com.

This sells at a wide range of prices. I’ll value it higher than a regular POP! at $15 USD.

Sea Of Thieves Silver Coin

This coin looks really familiar as I received a version of it in the GeekGear Biggest Ever Past Box for May 2019.

The difference is that version was the Gold Coin, limited to 1,000 numbered coins. My Geek Box had the silver version, which has 9,995 in circulation. There’s a also a bronze version available, which also has 9,995 in circulation.

I find these coins hard to value. The prices they’re selling for look impressive, but they’re not something I collect and they’re easy to get hold of.

I’ll value this at $5 USD.

The Joker Poker Set

This is a cool item, a metal tin with cards and chips, all decorated in Joker style. It’s also a heavy item, explaining the weight inside the box.

This is made by Paladone and is a reassuringly expensive item. I’ll value this at $20 USD.

Box Review

There are only four items in this My Geek Box, but the items all carry value.

I get $50 USD of value, which is decently above the cost price.

I’m not sure what item I like most. It’s a toss up between the poker set and the Funko POP! Vinyl.

The T-Shirt is cool too. The only reason I don’t mention the coin is I just don’t collect them and I’ve already got a more limited edition of this same coin.

My Geek Box has been consistently delivering good items in recent months. It’s a winner in my books.
