My Geek Box Review – April 2015

My Geek Box is an established UK based geek subscription box, with a distinctive box design.

This is the first box I’ve received from My Geek Box. Whilst I didn’t get any notification that this one was shipping, it arrived with the Royal Mail 48 hour delivery service.

Payment for this one was £17.99 GBP, including UK delivery. That’s about $28 USD. Discounts are available for longer subscriptions. Shipping is available to various worldwide countries, including the USA, although I couldn’t confirm the price without going through the order process.

Unusually, they also offer a T-Shirt only subscription, which is a very reasonable £7.99 GBP within the UK. They also offer a version of the box for kids and a box filled with candy, for those people with a sweet tooth.

The box is mostly officially licenced items from well-known geek franchises and holds together well. I couldn’t tell if there was a theme this month. There are no exclusive items, but that isn’t a problem, as everything is well-curated

No information card in this one, which I think is something that could be added, as it’s a great opportunity to cross promote the other products.

Box Review

A good selection of geek items from a box that’s fun to unpack.

I don’t think that the Avengers T-Shirt is an official Marvel item, but I like the style and colour and it will certainly get worn.

The best item for me is the Adventure Time mug. It just looks cool. And, it’s perfect mug size.

I also like the fun Marvel wallet, with many of the best superheroes on there (Spider-man is my all time favourite comic character).

The sweets were tasty and I’d certainly buy more if I was visiting the States. I like finding little treats like that inside boxes.

I’m not a World of Warcraft player, but I can see the model being fun to put together. This forms part of a bigger battle scenario for collectors and players.

The key ring is great as well. Always useful to have a bottle opener in your pocket! This one probably won’t get used, as I already have a bottle opener in my pocket! But this will make a good gift.

Overall, very happy with my first My Geek Box, which is a real asset to the UK’s scene for nerd and geek collectors. Check it out!
