Loot Wear Risky Business Geek Clothing Review – April 2018

Loot Wear is the Loot Crate’s mystery geek clothing line. I’m currently reviewing this every month as I signed up for an annual subscription.

This comes in a plastic envelope, smaller than a traditional box and designed to fit in a letterbox. The postman did manage to fit this in my letterbox this time but doesn’t always bother to try.

The envelope seemed thicker than usual, which I think reflects a slightly thicker T-Shirt.

This review is for the April 2018 package, with the theme Artifacts, which actually arrived well into May. Unfortunately, that’s the norm for Loot Wear right now, although it’s never clear what they delay is. The package does come with a foldout leaflet with details of the items.

Loot Wear offer a choice of bundles depending on which type of clothing you prefer. I go for the one which I think is the best value, Risky Business, which includes a pair of boxer shorts, a pair of socks and a T-Shirt (all exclusives) every month.

The standard pricing for this Risky Business bundle on a monthly basis and including UK shipping is £16 GBP ($20 USD) per month. Note that, although Loot Crate is a US based subscription, they do charge in pounds for people from the UK, although the price can change depending on the exchange rate.

Box Contents

Adventure Time T-Shirt (Exclusive)

This is a bright colour, almost fluorescent, design.

It depicts Finn’s favourite swords.

I value this at the T-Shirt standard of $10 USD.

Adventure Time Socks (Exclusive)

More Adventure Time! I’m not sure why we didn’t get more variety.

These are sports style socks, showing the Ice King and his Gunter Squad.

I’ll again use my standard sock value of $10 USD.

South Park Boxer Shorts (Exclusive)

These are always wearable and useful.

I’ll value these at $10 USD.

Box Review

With a value of $30 USD, this is above the cost price. This is a subscription that always offer value for money.

They aren’t my favourite franchises this month, but everything will get worn. The connection to the theme is rather loose too.

And, I’m not sure why they included two Adventure Time items (the information sheet also showed the second pair of socks, which is in the Socks focused version of Loot Wear and Captain America focused – I’d have liked that pair).

The socks also tend to be sports sock stlye. This will suit some people, not so much me.

But you can’t go too far wrong with Loot Wear. Definitely worth a look.
