It’s been over a year since I last picked up Geek Gear. This is a UK based geek subscription box which comes with higher production values than many, as well as exclusive items.

The April 2018 box arrived with me safely right at the end of the month, with a protective sleeve hiding a treasure chest like box inside.

As I said, the production values of this one are high. You can feel that in the tissue wrap enclosing the items, as well as in the folded leaflet giving details of the items, which aren’t themed.

Geek Gear has gone up in price since I last reviewed it. The standard price is now £24.99 GBP, including postage within the UK (that’s $32 USD). Delivery was with Royal Mail.

You can also get other Geek Gear boxes, including several options aimed at Harry Potter fans.

Box Contents

The Avengers T-Shirt (Exclusive)

A vibrant print. I like the choice of colours and the silhouette design.

I’ll value this at $10 USD.

Futuristic Enemies Cushion Covers (Exclusive)

A different type of item. Just to find some cushions to go inside the covers.

The designs work well and these are exclusives.

These are difficult to value, but I’ll go for $10 USD here.

Sea Of Thieves Coin

This is a collectible coin, of which only 9995 were made.

I’m not sure how collectible these really are, as there seem to be lots of different editions about, many of which have appeared in other geek boxes.

I’m going to err on the side of caution here with a $5 USD valuation.

Spider-man Print

This is a licenced print by Pyramid International, probably made in large numbers.

It is decent looking, but these don’t tend to sell for a lot.

I’ll value this at $3 USD.

Hulk Metal Displate Poster

This is also a licenced item, with this one made by Displate.

I do like the design which is printed on a small piece of metal.

It is something a bit different.

I’ll value this at $10 USD.

Infinity Stones Gauntlet Pin (Exclusive)

This is a step above many exclusive pins, coming properly packaged.

But it is still a pin and I just can’t get excited about it.

I’ll use the value I normally use of $2 USD.

Box Review

Lots of exclusive items in this Geek Gear box.

I get $40 USD of value, which is decently above the cost price.

The items are generally good, but this one just still doesn’t completely grab me. It’s unusual when I think the T-Shirt is probably the best item in the box.

I feel that it was missing a central item, such as a figure, although I appreciate Geek Gear trying to do something different.

Still, if you buy Geek Gear, you know you’re supporting a well-presented UK box with lots of thought having got into exclusive items inside.
